Chennai: Former CM M K Stalin on Tuesday termed NEET a “scam” following reports of alleged question paper leaks and called for abolishing the NEET exam entirely.Stalin said on X that NEET is filled with irregularities. “NEET is not a scam-free examination. NEET itself is a scam,” Stalin said. “Irregularities and malpractice became a recurring feature of the national entrance examination.“Referring to the reported paper leak controversy and cancellation of the exam, Stalin said lakhs of students were subjected to mental stress and uncertainty.He alleged that the examination process was riddled with irregularities at every stage and accused the system of repeatedly playing with the future of students, the state’s medical infrastructure and public welfare.He reiterated the DMK’s long-standing demand that MBBS admissions should be conducted on the basis of Class XII marks instead of NEET.Stalin also urged the newly formed govt led by chief minister C Joseph Vijay to take a firm stand against NEET and continue legal efforts seeking exemption for Tamil Nadu from the examination.
