Guwahati: Three youths lost their lives in two accidents that took place in the city’s Basistha and Garchuk areas.Both the localities where the accidents took place on Saturday night are located along the highway stretch.The accident which took place in Basistha, claimed the lives of two persons. According to the police, the deceased have been identified as Sahil Ahmed and Ayan Ahmed, both residents of Guwahati.Basistha traffic IC Sukanta Dey said, “Both of them were travelling from Khanapara towards the Jalukbari area. The accident took place when they took the Basistha flyover. They were travelling on a four wheeler, when they were hit by a speeding vehicle. The impact of the accident was very severe and the vehicle was severely damaged. An an investigation is going on.”Both of them died while they were being rushed to the Gauhati Medical College and Hospital, he added.Another accident took place late at night in the city’s Garchuk area. “The accident occurred when a motorcycle and scooter collided on the Garchuk–Pamohi Road. Two persons sustained grievous injuries and were rushed to the hospital. However, one of them succumbed to his injuries on the way, and the other is undergoing treatment,” a traffic police from Garchuk PS said.The police have identified the deceased as Bikash Rabha, a resident of the Pamohi area.
