Rajasthan’s shooter Khwaish Sharma to represent India at ISSF Junior World Cup to be held in Egypt from April 19 to 27

Jaipur: One of the key events on the international shooting calendar, the ISSF Junior World Cup (Rifle/Pistol/Shotgun), is scheduled to take place in Cairo, Egypt from April 19 to 27. The competition will bring together young shooters from across the world, providing a global platform to showcase their talent and skills.India will be fielding a strong junior contingent for the event, which includes Rajasthan’s Khwaish Sharma. Her selection is being seen as a matter of pride not just for Jaipur but for the entire state, as she is the only shooter from Rajasthan to be part of the Indian main team and one of only two athletes selected from the state overall.Trained in Jaipur, Khwaish Sharma specializes in the 50m Rifle and 10m Air Rifle events. She is currently ranked among the top 10 junior shooters in the country in the 50m rifle category, reflecting her consistency and technical proficiency.Recently, Khwaish, who hails from Fatehpur Shekhawati in Sikar district, secured a bronze medal in her debut international appearance at the Asian Championship 2026. She has also won a silver medal at the Khelo India University Games and clinched both gold and silver medals at the 67th National Shooting Championship. In recognition of her achievements, she was honoured by the Rajasthan Government on January 26.The Indian team is expected to put up a strong performance at the upcoming international event in Cairo.
