Ahmedabad: Two high-end mobiles snatched in Anandnagar, Ghatlodia

Ahmedabad: Two city residents lost their premium smartphones in separate snatching incidents in Anandnagar and Ghatlodia areas this week. In the first case, registered with Bodakdev police on Wednesday, Kaushal Shah, 48, a regional sales manager residing at Vraj Vihar-6 on Prernatirth Road in Satellite, stated that his mobile worth around Rs 75,000 was snatched while he was on a walk at night.According to the complaint, Shah was returning home around 9.30pm on May 5 and had reached near Shrungar Flats opposite Stavan Avisha Flats on Vrajdham Haveli Road when two unidentified men approached on a two-wheeler from behind. The pillion rider allegedly snatched the mobile from Shah’s hand and the duo sped away towards Prernatirth Derasar Road.Shah told police that the rider was aged around 20 to 25 years and was wearing a yellow T-shirt, while the pillion rider, aged around 22 years, wore a white shirt. He could not note down the registration number of the vehicle.In another incident reported in Ghatlodia, businessman Rushabh Champaneri, 36, alleged that his mobile worth around Rs 50,000 was snatched during a morning walk on Thursday.Champaneri, who runs an IT company near Thaltej crossroads, told police that he was passing by the under-construction Dharati Saket side road close to Bhuyangdev crossroads around 7am when two men on a black motorcycle approached him. The pillion rider allegedly grabbed the phone from his hand and fled.Police said Champaneri had already lodged an online e-FIR before submitting the purchase bill and a complaint. Probe is on in both the cases.
