JAIPUR: An 18-year-old youth was allegedly kidnapped and murdered by a group of men over a mobile phone dispute in Rajasthan’s Sawai Madhopur district, police said on Saturday.The victim was identified as Mankush Meena, was a resident of Uliyana village under the Kundera police station area. His body was recovered near Selu crossroads on Saturday morning.The incident took place on Friday evening when several men from the same village allegedly arrived at Mankush’s house and took him away in a vehicle following an argument.According to Circle Officer Uday Singh Meena, Mankush and his sister were alone at home as other family members had gone to attend a wedding.When the family returned later that night and found him missing, they approached the police. A search operation was launched, but his mobile phone was found switched off.Police later received information about a body lying near Selu crossroads. A team reached the spot and identified the deceased as Mankush.Officials said the body had injury marks and some of the victim’s clothes were missing.An FIR has been registered against several accused based on a complaint filed by the victim’s family. The accused are currently absconding.Police suspect that a dispute related to a mobile phone triggered the incident, while another angle linked to possible online fraud is also being investigated.
