GURGAON: A woman cab driver was allegedly stopped and assaulted in broad daylight on the Delhi-Jaipur Expressway near Ambience Mall, following which the DLF Phase-3 police station registered a case and launched an investigation.Police said the complainant, Rajni, a resident of Badarpur in Delhi, works as a cab driver in the Delhi-NCR region. In her complaint, she stated that the incident took place on Tuesday evening while she was travelling from Delhi towards Gurgaon.According to the complaint, an unidentified motorcyclist suddenly brought his bike in front of her cab near Ambience Mall, forcing her to apply emergency brakes and stop the vehicle.Rajni alleged that soon after she stopped the cab, the accused began misbehaving with her. When she objected, the man assaulted her and later fled the spot.The victim alerted the police immediately after the incident, following which an investigation was initiated.Police said CCTV footage from cameras installed near the spot is being examined to identify the motorcycle registration number and trace the accused.A police officer at DLF Phase-3 police station said a probe is underway and further action will be taken on the basis of evidence collected during the investigation.A case has been registered under sections 115, 126 of BNS.
