BJP workers vandalise BRS MLA’s office over remarks against Bandi | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) supporters went berserk and resorted to vandalism at the camp office of Karimnagar MLA Gangula Kamalakar in the town on Thursday morning and also made a vain bid to attack BRS MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy following the latter’s alleged adverse remarks on Union minister of state for home affairs Bandi Sanjay. Police dispersed the mob using force and took 18 protesters into preventive custody. A case was booked against the BJP supporters for damaging the MLA’s camp office. At around 11.30 am, a group of BJP supporters armed with sticks gathered at BRS MLA Gangula Kamalakar’s camp office in Karimnagar town, where Huzurabad MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy made adverse remarks against Bandi Sanjay earlier during the day in a press conference. While referring to Sanjay’s personal comments against KTR during a recent press conference in Karimnagar, Kaushik challenged Sanjay also to undergo a narcotic drugs test. “KTR will come for the drug test, but Sanjay also should appear for a drug test as we suspect that because of consuming tobacco products laced with narcotic substances, he lost all the hair,” Kaushik said during the press conference.Following the comments, about 20 BJP supporters barged into Gangula’s camp office and started ransacking the premises. While the security personnel of MLA Kaushik Reddy locked the door of his room, the BJP supporters damaged the windshields of Kaushik’s SUV and also damaged flower pots as well as window glasses of the camp office.Alerted by the BRS party workers, police rushed to the spot. They intercepted the BJP supporters, caned a few of them and took 18 BJP supporters into preventive custody. Police also briefly diverted traffic in the area. “On the complaint of an office boy working at Karimnagar MLA’s camp office, we have registered a case against the BJP supporters who resorted to vandalism under relevant sections of the PDPP Act and the BNS at the Karimnagar II Town PS. No arrests have been made yet. BJP supporters also gave a complaint against MLA Padi Kaushik Reddy. Since the offence is non-cognisable, we have sent the petition for legal opinion,” Karimnagar police commissioner Gaush Alam said.
