Rajkot: The Morbi Local Crime Branch (LCB) has cracked a blind murder case with the arrest of three persons, including the victim’s wife, in connection with the killing of a man whose half-burnt body was found about 10 days ago.The case came to light on April 27 when a partially burnt body of an unidentified man was discovered in an open area near a ceramic unit on the Dhuva–Matel road under Wankaner taluka police station limits. Initially registered as an accidental death, the suspicious circumstances led senior officials to transfer the probe to the LCB.Police teams analysed CCTV footage from nearby factories, hotels and petrol pumps, questioned local labourers, and used technical surveillance along with human intelligence to trace the suspects. The investigation led to the detention of three persons — Pavan Ninama (28), Suman Ninama (35), and her mother, Devlibai Girval (50), all natives of Dhar district in Madhya Pradesh.During interrogation, the trio confessed to the crime and identified the deceased as Chhagan Ninama, Suman’s estranged husband.According to police, the motive stemmed from prolonged domestic abuse and harassment. Suman had left Chhagan three years ago due to alleged physical violence and had moved to Dhuva with her two children, where she began living with Pavan.Chhagan allegedly continued to harass Suman and her family through repeated phone calls, leading to mental distress. Police said the accused conspired to eliminate him and brought him from Madhya Pradesh to Dhuva.Taking advantage of the night, they allegedly strangled him with a rope. To conceal his identity, they tied his hands and set the body on fire.Following the breakthrough, Wankaner taluka police have initiated proceedings to register a murder case against the three accused.
