Hyderabad: Jubilee Hills police have arrested four more persons, including the mother and brother of a prime accused, following the interrogation of a man allegedly involved in extorting money by targeting children from wealthy families and impressing them through social media reels.Hyderabad police commissioner VC Sajjanar himself went to Jubilee Hills police station along with DCP SHE Teams Lavanya and questioned prime accused K Chandrasekhar Azad alias Arjun and his family members.Police said Arjun, who was interrogated on Monday after obtaining permission from the local court, disclosed that he had collected nearly 18 lakh from different victims, including complainant’s daughter.“In one of his reels, he was seen apparently providing reflective collars to street dogs to help prevent accidents,” an investigator said. In the present case handled by Jubilee Hills police, the victim was contacted through social media. He is accused of sexually abusing the minor and later blackmailing her.“In 2025, a case was registered against him at Jubilee Hills police station under the POCSO Act. He was arrested and later released on bail. After securing bail, the accused again contacted the victim, who began stealing money from her parents under pressure due to continued blackmail,” officials said.The accused allegedly continued contacting her through the mobile phone of the watchman’s wife. “The watchman’s wife also exploited the situation and extorted money by threatening to inform the victim’s parents that the minor was still in touch with the accused,” police said.
