Hyderabad: Two people, including a minor, died and three others were injured after their car rammed into a stationary auto trolley on NH-65 in Zaheerabad at around 5.40 am on Tuesday.According to Zaheerabad town sub-inspector (SI) Vinay Kumar, the deceased were identified as K Mahesh Goud, 26, a driver by profession, and a 16-year-old boy. The other passengers in the car included a woman and her two daughters. “All of them were from different communities and families, but from the same village,” the SI said.Police said the group, residents of Kesaram village in Chevella, was returning from Tuljapur temple in Maharashtra when the incident occurred. “The trolley had suffered a mechanical failure, leading the driver to stop and park it midway. The speeding car rammed into it from behind,” SI Vinay said.Police said the front of the car was badly mangled, and the driver, Mahesh, and the minor boy died on the spot. The woman, who was in the front passenger seat, and her two daughters seated in the back have been shifted to a private hospital, where they are undergoing treatment.“It was early morning, so we suspect Mahesh may have been sleepy. We have also booked the trolley driver, Taufik, 35, for negligence,” the SI said.Based on a complaint from the deceased’s father, Suresh Goud, a case was registered under Section 106(1) of the BNS (rash and negligent act) against Taufik. Autopsies of both Mahesh and the minor have been completed, and their bodies have been handed over to their families. Further investigation into the incident is underway.
