Bathinda: After searches lasting nearly 36 hours, Moga MLA Amandeep Kaur Arora accused the BJP of using the Enforcement Directorate (ED) to pressurise her into joining the saffron party. She claimed she had been lured with a ministerial post in the next govt.Amandeep Kaur made the allegations after ED teams left seven locations associated with her family across Moga, Faridkot and Patiala districts at about 4:30pm on Thursday.Speaking to mediapersons, the MLA said, “The raid was unduly prolonged to scare and lure me. Team members were getting calls from some people who were asking me to leave AAP for BJP. But as I am a soldier of Arvind Kejriwal and Bhagwant Mann, I could neither be scared away nor be lured into joining any other party.”She said the ED team arrived at 5:30am on Nov 4 while she was sleeping and left on the evening of Nov 5. The team accused her of money laundering and questioned her about various property deals, she alleged.“The team searched our home, hospital, de-addiction centre and even the places of my in-laws and my parents but failed to find any incriminating documents. We fully cooperated with the ED team. Even if more searches are conducted, we have no objection to it,” she said.Officials privy to the matter said the case stemmed from a Punjab Police FIR registered on June 16, 2024, at Dharamkot police station. The investigation involves allegations of fraudulent mutation of govt land acquired for National Highway 754A and wrongful disbursement of compensation.Several Aam Aadmi Party members assembled at her residence after the ED team left following the searches.
