Chandigarh: Police claimed to have solved the case of a security guard’s murder in Manimajra with the arrest of three persons. The accused, Munna Rajak, 47, Shani Dev Kumar, 27, and Dhanik Kumar Sah, 24, of Bihar, were produced in court and remanded in judicial custody. Police scanned CCTV camera footage from nearby locations and around the jungle area, besides questioning residents of nearby slums.During interrogation, they found that the accused suspected the victim of stealing their mobile phone a few days ago. On the night of May 2, they consumed alcohol and confronted the security guard, leading to a heated argument.As the situation escalated, the accused attacked the victim using a wooden stick and strangled him with his belt. They later dragged the body through a nearby jungle area. Police seized the mobile phone of the deceased, the wooden stick used in the crime and blood-stained clothes from the accused.On May 2, police filed a case after receiving information about a body found near Kalagram light point close to a petrol pump in Manimajra.
