Hisar: Police seized around 8,200-8,300 litres of suspected diesel, worth an estimated Rs 8 lakh, from a pickup truck parked near a Hanuman temple on Saniana road near Pirthala village in Fatehabad district.Driver Rustam, a resident of Raidi village in Rajasthan’s Churu district, was arrested for allegedly failing to produce valid documents for the fuel’s purchase and transportation.Sadar Tohana SHO Sadhu Ram said a joint police and food, civil supplies and consumer affairs department team acted on a tip-off received on Oct 28. The team recovered 36 small cans, eight large cans and 27 plastic drums containing the fuel. Samples were collected before the fuel and vehicle were seized.A case has been registered at Sadar Tohana police station under the BNS and Essential Commodities Act, 1955.
