Gandhinagar: Gujarat govt has approved a special incentive scheme to attract industrial units to the upcoming bulk drug park at Jambusar in Bharuch district. The scheme offers a 10% capital subsidy on eligible fixed capital investment, reimbursement of utility charges for up to 10 years and 100% reimbursement of stamp duty and registration fees on the first allotment of land in the park. Eligible micro, small and medium enterprises (MSMEs) will also be entitled to special interest subsidies, govt said on Thursday.Spread across around 2,015 acres, the Jambusar project is being developed as a plug-and-play industrial ecosystem with common infrastructure facilities aimed at reducing the capital and operating costs of pharmaceutical manufacturers. The initiative is expected to encourage domestic production of active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), key starting materials (KSMs) and drug intermediates, reducing reliance on overseas suppliers and strengthening India’s pharmaceutical supply chain.Under the scheme, investors can choose between the dedicated Bulk Drug Park Scheme and Viksit Gujarat Industrial Policy 2026, depending on their project requirements. The incentives under the dedicated scheme include reimbursement of expenses related to power, steam, water, effluent treatment, solid waste management, warehousing and park maintenance, the statement added. The park will have more than 10 common infrastructure facilities, including a common effluent treatment plant, steam generation and distribution networks, solvent recovery facilities, facilities for treatment and disposal of hazardous waste, deep-sea disposal infrastructure, a centre of excellence and multi-modal logistics connectivity. The state govt expects the project to attract substantial investment, leveraging Gujarat’s industrial ecosystem, coastal location and logistics network. It is also projected to generate employment opportunities for thousands of skilled and semi-skilled workers.
