Pune: A sessions court has rejected the bail plea of Krushna Satyanarayan Kanojiya, arrested in the murder of a 28-year-old BPO employee in the parking area of her company in Yerawada on Jan 7 last year. The court noted on Saturday that the prosecution had prima facie evidence to infer that the accused committed a “cold- blooded murder”, and that material on record, including CCTV footage and recovery of incriminating articles, supported the allegation.According to the case put up by the prosecution, the accused was known to the victim and worked in the accounts department of the same company. He allegedly approached her over a dispute related to money and assaulted her with a sharp-edged weapon. She was taken to a hospital, where she died during treatment. The prosecution, while opposing the bail plea of the accused, submitted that the incident was captured on CCTV cameras and that the weapon used in the crime, along with blood-stained clothes, had been recovered during the investigation. It further relied on statements of witnesses, including a shopkeeper, from whom the weapon was allegedly purchased. The defence had argued that the accused had been falsely implicated and contended that no test identification parade was conducted. It was also submitted that the accused had no prior criminal history. The court noted that the accused was named in the FIR with a specific role attributed to him and that the material on record, including CCTV footage and recovery of articles, prima facie connected him to the offence. The court also took note of the prosecution’s claim that the accused had spoken to the victim’s father around the time of the incident. The court held that the accusation appeared to be well founded and that there was a possibility of the accused influencing witnesses or tampering with evidence if released. It said no case was made out for grant of bail.
