Hisar: Former MP Kuldeep Bishnoi on Monday rejected Haryana BJP chief Mohan Lal Badoli’s statement regarding issuing notices, terming it “completely ridiculous”.He said that if any notice were to be issued by the party, it should first be served on Rajya Sabha MP Rekha Sharma, followed by Badoli himself. In a statement, Bishnoi said, “When the teacher is good, the student learns quickly. At least it is good that after my remarks, Badoli has learnt to take Chaudhary Bhajan Lal’s name with due respect.”Reacting to Badoli’s remark that “like father, like son is not necessary”, Bishnoi said instead of taking action against the “derogatory comment” made by a woman against the former chief minister, the state president chose to remain silent. He questioned why no notice had been issued to Rekha Sharma despite her repeating the statement both on a public platform and later in an interview.Highlighting his contribution to the BJP, Bishnoi said, “I am the same son whom BJP leaders approached for an alliance. I played a key role in strengthening the party in Haryana and contributed significantly to forming the govt twice out of three times.”He added that the same person being challenged today could “bring people from the top to the ground”.Bishnoi said, “Paper notices do not scare me. I am the son of Chaudhary Bhajan Lal, and such notices hold no significance for me.”He further claimed that Badoli’s statement reflected his immaturity. According to the senior leader, ignoring the core issue of alleged insult to Bhajan Lal and focusing merely on the choice of words exposes a double standard. He said attempts were being made to divert attention from the real issue, but the people of Haryana were aware and would respond at the appropriate time.MSID:: 130801952 413 |
