CHENNAI: With TVK inching closer to becoming the single largest party in the 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly election, Congress functionary Praveen Chakravarty on Monday said if his party had aligned with actor Vijay’s party, the alliance would have swept the entire state.Praveen was an advocate of the Congress-TVK alliance even before the talks between DMK and Congress commenced. Though TVK has emerged as the single largest party, the party is yet to reach the 118-mark required for forming the govt.
Praveen said if both Congress and TVK had joined hands, they would have formed the govt with ease.“If Congress and TVK had joined hands, the alliance would have got two-thirds of the total seats. If (Congress leader) Rahul Gandhi and Vijay had joined together, they would have swept TN,” Praveen said.
