Kolkata: Vedanta Group chairman Anil Agarwal is likely to meet chief minister Suvendu Adhikari on Wednesday and may also announce some major investment proposals for Bengal, sources said.Agarwal is scheduled to attend a corporate event and a couple of board meetings on Wednesday morning, after which he is likely to meet the CM.Bengal is one of the states where the Rs 3.5 lakh crore group is yet to have any investment. “This could be the first investment in the state from the group,” a state official said.During the tenure of former CM Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee, Vedanta Group had proposed a project involving an investment of Rs 20,000 crore at Bidhanbag near Asansol. The project, however, did not see the light of day.
