Newlywed found dead in Rewari village, 5 booked

Rewari: The discovery of a 20-year-old woman’s body in her marital home just three months after her wedding has set off a police investigation against five people.Pramila of Lalpura village was found dead on Saturday at the house of her husband, Dharmender, at Lukhi. While her in-laws claimed initially that it was a suicide, her maternal family pointed to the unusual position of the body and signs of a struggle in the room.Pramila’s relatives reported finding her body on a bed with her legs touching the floor. They further noted spilled water and an open wardrobe in the room. Tensions escalated on the scene when members of her family claimed a police officer had prevented them from documenting the site and seized a mobile phone.The woman’s husband, a school electrician, was reportedly missing when the family arrived. A medical board conducted an autopsy on Sunday following demands from Pramila’s father, Charat Singh. Village leaders requested the funeral be held at Lukhi, but the woman’s took away the body for funeral.Investigating officer Naresh Kumar confirmed that the woman’s husband and his parents were among the five accused.
