Ahmedabad: A 46-year-old man was killed and three others were injured after an iron barricade fell on an autorickshaw in the Makarba area on SG Highway around 9.15am on Sunday. The rickshaw overturned from the impact, a police officer said. The dead man has been identified as Ajay Mahto, a labourer from Bihar. The injured are Ranjan Mandal, Dinesh Mandal and Sanjeev Dhanur, the officer said.Police said strong wind pressure from a passing bus caused one of the iron barricades placed at a flyover site to fall on the moving autorickshaw. Locals rushed to help and called 108 ambulance service and police, but Mahto was declared dead at the scene by medical personnel.A case of accidental death has been registered, and further investigation is underway, the officer added.
