Aizawl: A 10-year-old boy was found naked inside a discarded thermocol box near Buichali bridge in the Sairang village area near Aizawl on Sunday, prompting a police investigation.The boy was found around 2.30 pm when local youths from nearby Khamrang village were clearing several thermocol boxes dumped along the roadside. His trousers were inside the box, while his shirt was found outside. He appeared weak and dirty and was unable to dress or clean himself without help. He was later given food and clothes.The boy could not speak but was able to read and write. He wrote his name as Lalramchena and his parents’ names as Lalrindika and Vanlalzawni. He also wrote the name of Zemabawk North as his locality and indicated that he attended Ephatha Falkland School.Local volunteers from Zemabawk North in the northern outskirts of Aizawl have reportedly been searching for a missing boy over the two days. Based on the information written by the child, they suspect he may be the missing boy.The boy has not been able to explain how he ended up inside the box or why he was left there.Officials at Sairang police station are investigating the matter.
