Pune: A man and his nephew died after a large mound of mud collapsed on them during well excavation at Rasalwadi near Deulgaon Rasal in Baramati taluka around 11am on Sunday.The accident occurred when the work of placing explosives in the well was underway.The deceased have been identified as Machhindra Ramchandra Rasal (55) and Amol Dhanaji Rasal (27). Two other workers, who were working inside the well at the time of the incident, escaped unhurt.Inspector Narayan Pawar of Baramati (Rural) police told TOI, “The incident took place during the well excavation. We have initiated a process to register an accidental death report in this regard.”“The two men who escaped unhurt raised an alarm. After that, villagers and others gathered at the spot and began rescue work. Soon, police team also reached the spot,” he said.
