Shimla: The weather department on Saturday issued an alert for thunderstorms accompanied by lightning and gusty winds with 30-40 kilometres per hour speeds at isolated places across Himachal Pradesh, excluding Kinnaur and Lahaul and Spiti districts, from May 3 to 5.It has also forecast light to moderate rain or snowfall at several locations in the state between May 3 and 8.On Saturday, light to moderate rainfall was recorded at isolated places across Himachal Pradesh. Tabo in Lahaul and Spiti district recorded the lowest minimum temperature of 4.9℃ in the state, while Una was the hottest with a maximum temperature of 35.2℃.The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has also predicted above-normal rainfall in most parts of Himachal Pradesh during May. The number of heat-wave days is expected to remain above normal in mid and low hills or plain regions.Mean minimum temperatures are likely to stay above normal in many areas, while remaining near normal in parts of Chamba and Kangra districts during the month of May, the IMD predicted.No significant change in temperatures is expected on Sunday.
