UDISE code must for 2027 board exam forms in Haryana
UDISE code serves as a unique identifier for a school in the national education database

Gurgaon: Schools in Haryana will have to enter their Unified District Information System for Education (UDISE) code in the application forms of students appearing for Class 10 and Class 12 board examinations in March 2027, following directions from the Union ministry of education.UDISE code serves as a unique identifier for a school in the national education database. Officials said making it mandatory in board examination applications would help verify students’ academic records and establish whether they are registered with the institution in which they study. The move is also aimed at detecting possible irregularities involving schools operating beyond their recognised levels or enrolling students under another institution’s identity. For instance, an institution running Classes 11 and 12 but registering students through another school could come under scrutiny during verification.Linking examination applications to the school’s UDISE code is expected to help authorities identify discrepancies in enrolment details and check the recognition status of institutions. The system maintains information on schools and supports education authorities in planning, monitoring and record-keeping.Haryana Board of School Education has initiated steps to implement the requirement, and the district education office has issued instructions to schools to ensure compliance. Block education officers have been asked to direct schools in their respective areas to enter the correct code while completing examination-related formalities.Officials have stressed that schools must enter the correct code and complete the required formalities carefully to avoid discrepancies that could affect students during registration for the March 2027 examinations. The education department has asked schools to complete the necessary formalities well before the board examination application process begins. The requirement is intended to strengthen transparency in school records and make verification of examination applications and academic documents more reliable. By ensuring the correct UDISE code is entered during registration, authorities also aim to identify schools whose records warrant closer scrutiny.
