Ahmedabad: A 15-year-old girl, who lives with her mother, was allegedly kidnapped and repeatedly raped by a former neighbour. The suspect, a resident of Ghodasar, reportedly took the minor from her current residence to a hotel room where the assault occurred, said police. Locals claim the suspect is a known anti-social element with a criminal history. They have provided the police with the accused’s confession on video along with other details, but a formal FIR had not been registered till reports last came in.The victim’s family previously lived in Ghodasar but moved away due to a two-year-old rivalry with the accused.The incident came to light after neighbours confronted the man, who allegedly confessed to the crime. During this confrontation, he reportedly admitted on video that he had forced the girl to shower and change her clothes after the assault. Residents allege that the accused threatened them with dire consequences and warned them against filing a police complaint. Sola High Court police inspector K N Bhukan confirmed that the incident was reported and that a preliminary investigation is underway. The victim informed her parents that she was coerced into going to the hotel.
