Jhajjar: To curb vehicular emissions and strengthen environmental protection across the National Capital Region (NCR), the Jhajjar administration has urged owners of 10-year-old diesel and 15-year-old petrol vehicles to ensure compliance with applicable regulations and utilise authorised vehicle scrapping facilities. Jhajjar deputy commissioner Varsha Khangwal stressed that collective responsibility and public participation are vital to building a cleaner, safer and greener NCR. She noted that ageing vehicles can contribute to air pollution and pose maintenance and road-safety concerns. The administration, through the district transport officer, is conducting awareness initiatives to encourage responsible vehicle disposal and promote cleaner transportation alternatives. Khangwal cautioned that violations of applicable vehicle regulations could invite stringent legal action. She urged vehicle owners to follow prescribed procedures and approach registered vehicle scrapping facilities (RVSFs) for authorised disposal. DTO Ravish Hooda said these facilities enable the systematic dismantling of end-of-life vehicles and facilitate the recovery and recycling of reusable materials, supporting resource efficiency and environmental sustainability.
