Cuddalore: A controversy has erupted after derogatory slogans targeting the DMK party and its leadership flashed on the electronic LED destination board of a Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC) bus plying in Cuddalore district. The incident involved a Villupuram division state bus bearing registration number TN 32 M 5032, operated out of the Virudhachalam depot. The bus was en route from Trichy towards Puducherry via Perambalur, Tittakudi, Virudhachalam, Neyveli, and Cuddalore. While travelling along the Trichy–Chennai National Highway, the bus’s external LED display screen, instead of displaying the standard route and destination details, began scrolling provocative political lines reading, “Om Sakthi Parasakthi… DMK Oru Theeya Sakthi” (Om Sakthi Parasakthi… DMK is an evil force) alongside personal and political jibes targeting party leaders.Motorists and commuters travelling along the highway noticed the unusual display and captured videos on their mobile phones, which have since been shared widely across social media platforms. The incident has drawn sharp criticism and sparked widespread debate, with the public and political observers demanding a thorough departmental inquiry into how unauthorised text appeared on an official public transport system, and calling for stringent measures to prevent such incidents from recurring.
