Dairy adulteration racket busted, stock worth 2.37L seized

Rajkot: The Special Operations Group (SOG) of Devbhumi Dwarka Police conducted a raid at Jalaram Dairy in Jam Khambhaliya and busted an alleged case of dairy adulteration.During the operation, police seized and destroyed suspected adulterated dairy products and chemical substances worth Rs 2.37 lakh. The dairy owner, 43-year-old Ketan Asani, was detained for questioning.Following the seizure, an inspector from the Food and Drugs Control Administration (FDCA), Devbhumi Dwarka, was called to conduct preliminary on-site testing.Officials destroyed 54.437 kg of suspected inedible paneer worth about Rs 19,052. They also seized 648 kg of skimmed milk powder valued at Rs 2.17 lakh and 15.7 kg of acetic acid.Authorities collected six samples from the site — including milk, curd, paneer, shrikhand, skimmed milk powder and acetic acid—for further laboratory analysis. Further action will be taken based on the test reports.
