Revanth accuses Modi Govt of getting 20 cr votes deleted

Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Monday alleged that Narendra Modi govt at the Centre was afraid of losing the next election and had given chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar the task of removing 20 crore anti-Modi and anti-BJP votes via the special intensive revision (SIR).The NDA govt led by Modi is trying to divide the country into two classes of people — one who were rich and had voting rights, and another who were poor and included adivasis, Dalits, Girijans and minorities without voting rights, he alleged.“There is a danger of this second category of people who are not in favour of Modi and BJP being reduced to second-class citizens. The BJP is snatching their votes with the intention of winning the next election and remaining in power. The trio of Modi, Union home minister Amit Shah and CEC Gyanesh Kumar is indulging in ‘vote chori ‘under the guise of SIR,” Revanth alleged, addressing reporters at Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi.Revanth, along with TPCC president Mahesh Kumar Goud, ministers, MPs, MLCs, MLAs, Congress district presidents and corporation chairpersons from Telangana, also participated in a march from Barakhamba to Supreme Court, along with Rahul Gandhi and other AICC and INDIA alliance leaders, demanding Gyanesh Kumar’s resignation.“To ensure that Dalit, adivasi, minorities and downtrodden citizens continue to have voting rights, as given by B R Ambedkar in the Constitution, Rahul Gandhi is leading another freedom movement,” Revanth said.BJP has won elections in the states where it could not have won without the SIR, he alleged. BJP first stoked discord between religions and regions. Then it started misusing CBI, IT, ED, Narcotics bureau. Then it realised it would be difficult to win the next election even by misusing all these institutions and changed the selection committee member to appoint the chief election commissioner. BJP govt removed the Chief Justice of India and brought in the Union home minister to the selection committee. “Now, it is misusing ECI,” he alleged. How can the number of voters decrease when the population is increasing, Revanth asked and pointed out that there were 81 crore voters in 2014, 91 crore in 2019, and 97 crore in 2024. Over 13 crore votes had already been deleted. If the population is increasing and has crossed 140 crore, then the number of voters should have crossed 100 crore, he said.Revanth alleged that it was being used to identify and delete anti-BJP votes. He expressed strong indignation, stating that the votes of young people who post against PM Modi on social media were also being removed.
