Lucknow: Condemning physical assault on girls, including a minor, by men in civvies backed-up by those in uniform during Jantar Mantar protest in New Delhi, Samajwadi Party national president Akhilesh Yadav on Sunday said the goons in question were BJP men and the incident was a repeat from what “Hitler did to his protestors and political rivals”.Akhilesh said if the photographs and videos of the incidents in Delhi are anything to go by, the people attacking women, including a minor girl, were men associated with the BJP. “If my information is correct, those men were from Ghaziabad and adjoining areas in Uttar Pradesh,” Akhilesh said. The former UP CM took a jibe at the BJP govt’s tall claims of zero tolerance towards crime against women and children and demanded stringent action against those involved in attacking two girls who were ruthlessly punched, kicked and dragged. Visuals of the brutal assault went viral on social media.“Those involved in the incident must be immediately identified and punished to make sure that none of the BJP men and their associates are able to attack our daughters,” Akhilesh said, posting a visual in which a girl can be seen lying on the road as a man drags her by her shirt and her girl companion tries to rescue her.Akhilesh said the manner in which policemen are seen watching as a mute spectator and even facilitating the escape of tormentors proved that whatever happened was planned. “BJP is replicating what Hitler did to silence dissent and political opponents. Musclemen from Hitler’s party would go out dressed as soldiers and attack protesters and political rivals. This is exactly what BJP is doing,” the SP chief said.‘JP’s Sampoorn Kranti call relevant even today’Lucknow: Paying floral tributes to socialist theorist Jayaprakash Narayanon his birth anniversary on Sunday, Samajwadi Party chief Akhilesh Yadav said his call for Sampoorn Kranti was relevant even today.“Sampoorn Kranti was a sociopolitical movement launched by Jayaprakash Narayan – who was also known as JP or Loknayak. The movement started from a public meeting addressed by JP at Gandhi Maidan in Patna (Bihar) on June 5, 1974. The movement called for complete transformation of the society on seven counts — political, economic, social, cultural, ideological, educational and spiritual,” he said, talking to the media after garlanding the statue of Jayaprakash Narayan at JPNIC in Lucnow.“Under the BJP govt, negativity, hate and corruption are at its peak. Education sector is in bad shape and economy is in a shambles. Donation is being stolen from Ram temple, these factors make JP’s call for Sampoorn Kranti very relevant today,” Akhilesh said.
