Silchar: Police and Assam Rifles personnel seized suspected drugs valued at around Rs 1 crore in Cachar’s Lakhipur area.Two suspected suppliers were arrested during the joint operation, conducted as part of an ongoing anti-narcotics crackdown in the district, officials said.The seized capsules and tablets have an estimated market value of approximately Rs 1 crore. A case has been registered against the accused under relevant provisions of the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.Police are investigating the source of the consignment, its intended destination and the possible involvement of others in the supply network.The seizure comes amid intensified anti-narcotics operations across Cachar, where police and security agencies have been conducting regular drives against drug trafficking.
