New Delhi: Delhi Pollution Control Committee (DPCC) has issued show-cause notices to agencies executing govt and private infrastructure projects after inspections revealed failures to follow mandatory dust control measures. The action against violators includes stopping construction work, disconnecting electricity supply and imposing environmental compensation, depending on the nature and severity of violations. The inspections covered projects associated with Delhi Jal Board (DJB), National Highways Authority of India (NHAI), Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) and National Buildings Construction Corporation (NBCC), as part of Delhi govt’s efforts to curb pollution, said CMO.At the DJB site, inspections were conducted during sewer line laying work in Patparganj Industrial Area. Under NHAI, the 17.2-km corridor on NH-9/Rohtak Road, from Punjabi Bagh to Tikri Kalan, was inspected, particularly around Mundka metro station and Mundka Industrial Area.Inspections were also carried out at work sites related to Delhi Metro, Central Vista project, near Gate number three close to Krishi Bhawan at Central Secretariat Metro Station, where CEM India Projects Limited is involved.
