NOIDA: Noida: A 29-year-old man allegedly jumped into a drain near the Sector 81 Metro station on Wednesday night following an argument with his wife over his drinking habit, police said. A search operation was launched immediately, but the man could not be traced till late Wednesday night.The man was identified as Ravi, a native of Jainpura village in the Jalesar area of Etah district. He was currently living in Harola, Sector 5, police said.According to police, a PCR call was received through Dial-112 informing them that a man had jumped into a drain near the Sector 81 Metro station. A local police team and a fire services unit were immediately sent to the spot.Police said Ravi’s wife, who was present at the scene, told officers that the couple had an argument over his drinking. Following the argument, Ravi allegedly became angry and jumped into the drain.Fire services personnel entered the drain and began searching for him. Police also sought assistance from the State Disaster Response Force (SDRF) and National Disaster Response Force (NDRF), with teams being mobilised for the search operation.Officials said the search was being conducted in the drain and adjoining areas as teams worked to locate Ravi. Police were also gathering information about the circumstances leading up to the incident.Further details on whether Ravi was traced were awaited as the search operation continued late Wednesday night.
