Ahmedabad: Counselling for All India Quota (AIQ) seats in postgraduate medical courses will begin on Oct 10, paving the way for the first round of admissions to MD, MS and other PG programmes. The first round will conclude on Nov 3.The development is likely to delay counselling for Gujarat’s state quota seats until after Diwali. Gujarat has more than 3,500 PG medical seats, with state admission process expected to begin after AIQ round.The PG medical admission process was delayed amid controversy over examination results. Several candidates had objected to the non-release of OMR sheets and answer keys, while some claimed their names were missing from OMR records. A few candidates approached Supreme Court, creating uncertainty over counselling. However, the court refused to stay admission process, allowing the schedule to be announced.Candidates can register and pay the prescribed fee from Oct 10 to 12. Choice filling will be held from Oct 13 to 22, followed by seat processing on Oct 22 and 23 and allotment on Oct 24. Fee payment and admission confirmation will be completed between Oct 26 and Nov 2, with verification on Nov 3.
