Ahmedabad: The Ahmedabad Urban Development Authority (Auda) has proposed constructing its new headquarters, Auda Bhavan, near Bhat Circle on the Sardar Patel Ring Road in Bhat village, under Gandhinagar Municipal Corporation. The project, estimated to cost Rs 175 crore, will come up on a 11,760 sq metre plot. The proposed building will rise about 45 metres and comprise two basement levels, a ground floor and 11 upper floors.Auda officials said sustainability forms the core of the project design, with a target of securing an Indian Green Building Council (IGBC) Platinum rating. The project has been planned to achieve around 88 points across parameters including site planning, water conservation, energy efficiency, materials and resources, indoor environmental quality, innovation and decarbonisation. Climate-responsive and passive architectural features such as orientation-based facade planning, external shading, UV-protected DGU glazing, insulated roofing, and extensive green landscaping have been incorporated into the design. The ground floor will house reception, security and exhibition spaces, along with facilities for public services and EWS-related work. The building will also feature meeting rooms, record and storage facilities, boardrooms, a command centre, conference facilities and a library. Parking for around 250 cars and 300 two-wheelers has been planned across the two basement levels.
