INDIA bloc questions PM, HM’s silence over kids killed in Manipur

Imphal: INDIA bloc in Manipur has questioned the silence of PM Narendra Modi and Union home minister Amit Shah over the recent killing of two children, including an infant, in a bomb attack in Manipur. They also accused the Centre of treating the people of Manipur as if they are not Indian citizens.A delegation of INDIA bloc in Manipur, led by Congress leader Keisham Meghachandra Singh, visited Tronglaobi in Bishnupur on Monday to share the grief of the bereaved family of the two children who were killed in the bomb attack last week.Speaking to reporters, Meghahandra Singh criticised both the state and central govts over the killing of the two children in the bomb attack, alleging grave lapses in security intelligence since May 3, 2023.

Meghachandra Singh maintained that the INDIA bloc and people of Manipur want to know why PM Modi and Shah have not expressed any condemnation or condolences over the children’s deaths. He said both the state and central govts must bear the responsibility for the continued violence and loss of civilian lives in Manipur.The Congress leader emphasised that justice for the victims must be delivered without delay and also demanded a judicial enquiry into the killing of three civilians in firing by security forces following protests that erupted against the bomb attack.
