Chennai: Two-time AIADMK MLA from Kattumannarkoil N Murugumaran joined TVK on Sunday. In a letter to AIADMK general secretary Edappadi K Palaniswami, Murugumaran said that he was quitting primary membership of AIADMK “with pain” because the party was “drifting away from its path”.Within hours of sending the letter, Murugumaran met TVK general secretary N Anand and joined TVK. AIADMK sources said that he was upset with Palaniswami as he was allotted Thittakudi assembly constituency instead of Kattumannarkoil which he had sought.“The party which was led by ideological leaders has lost its principles and was guided by money,” Murugumaran charged. He also alleged that AIADMK suffered a rift due to the “leadership’s decision to align with DMK”.
