Assets worth Rs 28.9L of Kuntu gang member to be attached in Azamgarh

Varanasi: Police will attach assets worth Rs 28.90 lakh belonging to Sunil Kumar Singh, an alleged member of jailed mafia don Dhruv Singh alias Kuntu Singh’s gang, within the next couple of days.SSP Anil Kumar said DM Ravindra Kumar on Saturday ordered attachment of two vehicles belonging to Sunil under the Uttar Pradesh Gangsters and Anti-Social Activities (Prevention) Act. The assets include a JCB machine purchased in 2022, with an estimated market value of Rs 28 lakh, and a motorcycle valued at Rs 90,000. Their combined market value is Rs 28.90 lakh. The attachment process will be completed within a day or two, the SSP said.According to police records, Sunil, a resident of Tahirpur under Raunapar police station, allegedly acquired the assets using illegal earnings generated through criminal activities carried out with gang members.A case under Gangsters Act is registered against him at Kotwali police station. He faces seven cases in Azamgarh district involving charges under sections related to attempt to murder, the Gangsters Act, Arms Act, NDPS Act, cheating, forgery, criminal intimidation and extortion.
