Lucknow: Mandi Parishad director Jitendra Pratap Singh on Friday said that newly appointed mandi secretaries would be given special training to make the mandi more effective and farmer-friendly.During the training, the new appointees will be taught about mandi operations, departmental working procedures, how to resolve farmers’ problems quickly, revenue and other processes.Singh has directed mandi secretaries to ensure that farmers visiting mandis face no inconvenience. Among their routine activities will be regular monitoring of essential facilities in mandi premises, like sanitation, availability of water, lighting and parking. As part of the training, mandi secretaries will be taught how to deal sensitively with problems of farmers with financial or other difficulties.The training will also cover issues like time-bound disposal of farmers’ complaints, transparency in mandi arrangements, and helping farmers avail the benefits of govt schemes and facilities.
