LUCKNOW: The bodies of a 27-year-old man and a 42-year-old woman were found hanging in a hotel room in Bahraich in the early hours of Friday, police said.The two had been staying at Kailash Hotel in the Kotwali area since September 22 and had reportedly told hotel staff that they had come to the city in search of jobs.The deceased were identified as Rinku, 27, a resident of Shravasti, and Pinky, 42, a resident of Gautam Buddh Nagar.According to hotel staff, the two had checked into the hotel nine days ago. The staff said they had not noticed anything suspicious about their behaviour during their stay.On Thursday, the two had breakfast in the morning but did not order any further food. When a hotel employee knocked on their door and received no response, the hotel management alerted the police.At around 8pm, police reached the hotel and broke open the room door. The two were found hanging inside the room.Superintendent of Police Vishwajeet Srivastava and City Kotwali Station House Officer Brajendra Mishra reached the spot after being informed about the incident. A forensic team also inspected the room and collected evidence.Police examined the hotel register and other records as part of the investigation. Rinku’s identity was established from the Aadhaar card he had submitted at the hotel.Additional Superintendent of Police (City) Ayush Vikram Singh said a woman and a man were found dead inside the hotel room. Their bodies were sent to the mortuary and further investigation was underway.Police said the nature of the relationship between the two was not yet clear. Investigators are examining all possible angles, including their stay records and other circumstances surrounding the deaths.The bodies have been sent for post-mortem examination. Police said the exact circumstances and cause of death would become clearer after the investigation and post-mortem report.
