Vet’s body found in car on EPE, cops recover 4 anaesthesia bottles

Ghaziabad: A 30-year-old veterinary doctor was found dead inside his Brezza car on the Eastern Peripheral Expressway in Muradnagar on Wednesday afternoon. The man had been reported missing after family members found a suicide note in his home on Tuesday night. Police also found four anaesthesia bottles with a syringe and suspect he died of an anaesthesia overdose.According to ACP (Nandgram) Ziauddin Ahmad, the veterinary doctor ran a clinic in Lajpat Nagar in Delhi and lived in a Raj Nagar Extension highrise with his wife, 10-month-old son and parents. On Tuesday, he left home for work around 9am as usual but did not return. His parents grew worried when he did not respond to their calls and checked his room, where they found a suicide note.They immediately approached Nandgram police station to file a missing person report and submitted the note. The note stated that the doctor was not satisfied with his life and that he did not blame anyone else for his actions, police said.ACP (Masuri) Sunil Kumar said that around 2.30pm on Wednesday, passersby noticed a car parked adjacent to the road, and when the man inside did not respond to knocks, they informed police. A police team reached the spot and found that he had died.“We sent the body for autopsy and reports are awaited. Initial investigation revealed the missing person complaint at Nandgram police station and that the man had left a suicide note at his house. An investigation is being conducted by the Nandgram police station,” ACP Kumar said.ACP Ahmad said that officers at Nandgram police station had alerted other stations in the district and neighbouring districts after the report was filed on Tuesday night. Photos had been sent out to aid in the search.“On Wednesday evening, we got information from Muradnagar police station and family members also identified the body,” ACP Ahmad said.A cause of death has not been established and viscera has been preserved for further investigation, police said, adding that the doctor’s wife and son were visiting her family in Rohtak at the time.
