Aarohee Sharma of Lotus Valley International School, Sector 126, Noida, (‘LVIS’) swept the girls’ singles and doubles titles at the Asian Tennis Federation (ATF) Under-12 Tennis Tournament, held at The Tennis Project, Gurugram, from September 19 to 25, 2026.The singles title proved to be the tougher challenge. In Friday’s final, Aarohee faced her doubles partner, Swastik and dropped the opening set 1-6. She responded emphatically by taking the second set 6-1 before holding her nerve in a closely fought decider to seal a 6-4 victory.A day earlier, the pair had teamed up to capture the girls’ doubles title, defeating Drisha Kukreja and Shanaya Thakran 6-3, 6-3 in the final.“This was a statement win from Aarohee,” said coach Mahesh Kumbria, who has trained players competing at national and international levels. “Coming back from 1-6 down in a final and going on to win the singles title showed exceptional composure and belief. To add the doubles title in the same tournament makes it a standout achievement and underlines her promise as a young player to watch.”Aarohee is a Class VII student of LVIS. This triumph adds to an impressive year for the young player. In January, she won the All India Tennis Association (‘AITA’), Under-12, CS – 7 title and participated in finals and semi-finals of various AITA tournaments. She also secured gold in the girls’ Under-14 category at the CBSE North Zone Tennis Championship 2026, qualified for the CBSE National Championship, and was named the school’s Best Player of the Year in Lawn Tennis (Sub-Junior) for 2025-26. A Scholar Badge holder in school, she balances a demanding training schedule alongside her academic commitments.“I am thankful to Lotus Valley School for its constant encouragement and support in helping me balance academics and tennis,” said Aarohee. The day after the final, she attended the New Delhi city trials of the Kia India Ballkids Program for the Australian Open 2027.Aarohee trains primarily under coaches Mahesh Kumbria and Sharath Kambadur at the School of Tennis, with support from Manmeet Singh Marwah. She also benefits from group training at Way to Slams Tennis Academy under Utkarsh Tiwari and Uday Saini, and from the guidance of school coach Mohammed Ather. With every step, Aarohee is building a compelling story of promise, ambition and momentum: a young player chasing the dream of breaking into the ITF junior circuit and representing the country. Greater national and international exposure will be key to taking her game to the next level.Disclaimer – The above content is non-editorial, and TIL hereby disclaims any and all warranties, expressed or implied, relating to it, and does not guarantee, vouch for or necessarily endorse any of the content.
