Chennai: Madras high court on Wednesday refused immediate relief to DMK MP T R Baalu, who moved the court for a direction to SIT probing the child rape cases against granite baron R Veeramani, to question chief minister C Joseph Vijay and ministers Aadhav Arjuna and C T R Nirmal Kumar over their allegations against DMK in the case.“We don’t want to restrain them from talking about it. They allege that so and so has covered up the Pocso case. If that is true, they should not be any cover up. All that we want to say is, if there is cover up, give the evidence to the police,” senior advocate J Ravindran said, representing Baalu on Wednesday.“You want to play politics,” said Justice V Lakshminarayanan.“We are seeking a restraint order. If you have anything, go and give it the SIT, that is all we want. We are asking for a simple prayer: Consider my representation to the SIT,” Ravindran said. The complaint was given on Sept 27. As per rules, only after four weeks of the representation can one approach the court. Therefore, we can wait for a month, the judge said. But this is a case of sexual abuse and is a serious allegation. This court cannot put the case on the same footing as others, the petitioner said.Refusing to concur, the court adjourned the hearing to after four weeks.
