Amritsar: A Class XI student who had been rusticated from a Punjab govt-run school of eminence allegedly died by suicide at her home in Amritsar on Wednesday .The 15-year-old girl’s family and friends have accused two female teachers of mentally harassing her Following the incident, the victim’s family and friends protested outside the school, demanding action against teachers who they accused of insulting the girl.Amritsar police commissioner Harmanbir Singh Gill said the preliminary probe had found no evidence of anyone provoking the girl. He said she had been rusticated from the school along with another girl student following an incident. Gill said the girl’s body had been handed over to her family after the postmortem.According to the family, around a month ago, the victim fought with another girl from her class. Both students were later rusticated from the school. The family alleged that a few days ago, when the two girls went to the school to appear for an examination, they were again humiliated. The family claimed that when the students subsequently visited the school along with their parents, they were insulted again . “A madam used to scold her over trivial matters,” she alleged.
