Ludhiana: Technicians and certified welders at the Ludhiana Diesel Shed have turned discarded railway scrap into creative artworks as part of the “Swachhata Hi Seva 2026” campaign.The recycled creations have been installed at Adarsh Park, a public park dedicated to the nation during Operation Sindoor.Key installations created under the “Kabaad se Jugaad” initiative include sculptures titled Bharat Ka Sipahi, Samay Ki Keemat, Jugaad Gun, and Jugaad Cannon. The drive aimed to promote environmental conservation, recycling, and resource management while clearing unused materials from railway yards.Employees across various sections of the diesel shed worked over a month to complete the sculptures. Staff members noted that the effort was designed to clear long-pending clutter and encourage public participation in eco-friendly initiatives.Senior divisional mechanical engineer Rahul Bharti sensitised workers on cleanliness and the sustainable reuse of materials, stressing the need for similar green projects in the future.Divisional railway manager (DRM) Sanjeev Kumar commended the team’s creativity and collaborative effort.
