Panaji: Residents and commuters have urged Bicholim MLA and police to address safety and hygiene problems at the newly constructed Bicholim bus stand.Passengers alleged that a group living in unhygienic conditions had occupied seating areas, inconveniencing commuters. They also complained of littering, public urination and open defecation around the bus stand.Residents said the conditions were affecting the use and upkeep of the new facility and called on authorities to strengthen security and sanitation measures.They said people with genuine disabilities and those needing assistance should be treated with dignity and given appropriate support, but this should not compromise the safety and convenience of other passengers.Commuters appealed to authorities to inspect the premises, ensure regular cleaning, prevent unauthorised occupation and maintain order at the bus stand.
