Rajkot: A man, his wife and their 13-year-old son were killed after their scooter collided with a car between Ghoghavadar and Ramod villages in Gondal taluka of Rajkot district on Sunday. The deceased were identified as Jayesh Bagda (40), his wife Santu Bagda (36) and their son Vraj Bagda (13), residents of Anida Bhalodi village.According to police sources, Jayesh was riding the scooter towards Ramod with his wife and son when the collision occurred. The impact threw both vehicles towards the roadside, while the car overturned. The trio riding the scooter sustained serious injuries and died.
The car was being driven by Hiral Patel, who was travelling with three others. All four occupants of the car, including the driver, escaped unharmed.Preliminary information suggested that the occupants had left Anand around 2.30am and travelled to Salangpur for darshan. After offering prayers there, they were heading towards Akshar Deri in Gondal when the accident occurred.Gondal Taluka police reached the scene and registered a case against the car driver. Further investigation is underway to establish the exact circumstances leading to the collision.
