Ahmedabad: The second round of admission to nursing and allied medical courses in Gujarat has concluded, with 14,523 students securing admission after two rounds. However, a large number of seats remain vacant across govt and self-financed institutions.Against 51,470 sanctioned seats across 1,079 govt and self-financed institutions, 36,947 seats remained vacant after the second round. GNM and nursing courses accounted for a significant share of the vacant seats.According to Gujarat Professional Nursing and Allied Medical Educational Courses Admission Committee, 15,154 students participated in choice-filling for the second round, of whom 10,161 received fresh seat allotments. After the reporting process, 14,523 students have secured admission through the first and second rounds.In BSc Nursing, 322 of 400 govt seats were filled, leaving 78 vacant. Among self-financed institutions, 3,650 of 14,233 seats were filled, while 10,583 remained vacant.For GNM, 740 of 915 govt seats were filled and 175 remained vacant. In self-financed institutions, 5,778 of 20,060 seats were filled, leaving 14,282 vacant.In ANM, 433 of 630 govt seats were filled, with 197 vacant. Self-financed institutions filled 1,548 of 10,353 seats, leaving 8,805 vacant.For BPT, 337 of 484 govt seats were filled and 147 remained vacant. Self-financed institutions filled 1,587 of 4,095 seats, leaving 2,508 vacant.Admissions were also conducted for Bachelor in Prosthetics and Orthotics (BO), Bachelor of Audiology and Speech-Language Pathology (BASLP), Bachelor of Naturopathy and Yogic Sciences (BNYS), Bachelor of Occupational Therapy (BOT), and Bachelor of Optometry (BOptom) courses.
