Varanasi: Senior physician of the Sowa-Rigpa department at the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies Dr Chhimi Dolkar was honoured for her significant contribution to society at a felicitation ceremony held on Friday. The programme was jointly organised by the Bauddhayan Society and the Institute of Fine Arts at the Anand Pindaka Auditorium of the Tibetan Institute. Dr Chhimi Dolkar has made significant contributions to the fields of medical service, teaching and research in Sowa Rigpa, the traditional Tibetan system of medicine.She received higher education in Sowa Rigpa medicine from the Central Institute of Higher Tibetan Studies, Varanasi, and obtained the Menpa Kachupa and Menrampa degrees. She is currently continuing her work in teaching clinical services and research in the field of Sowa Rigpa medicine.Her research on women’s health, Sowa Rigpa medicine has been particularly noteworthy. Her dedication to medical service, pursuit of knowledge, research oriented approach and humanitarian values have made her an inspiration for the younger generation. She has earned recognition for her contribution to the field of medicine. On the occasion,Dr Sunita Chandra, Registrar of the institute, congratulated Dr Chhimi Dolkar and extended her best wishes for her continued contribution and success.
