CHENNAI: The Tamil Nadu govt on Friday announced that all the schools in the state would reopen on Oct 5 after the quarterly exams. The exams that began in the third week of September ended on Friday. The schools will remain closed from Sept 26 to Oct 4.Chief and district education officers have been instructed to ensure that students receive their second term textbooks without any delay when the schools reopen. “All students must be given their answer sheets, and their scores should be entered on the state’s EMIS portal,” a release from the department said.“Higher classes (classes X and XII) have received their textbooks. We have also been instructed not to hold special classes for children,” a school head said, adding that instructions have been issued to clean and spruce up the campuses during the holidays amid rising cases of fever and dengue in the state.The school education department instructed govt and aided primary schools to hold special admissions for Vijayadashami (Oct 20) and log the details district-wise on the EMIS portal.
